Cleaning Up And Quitting Morphine And Oxycodone

I have taken two 30 mgs of morphine twice a day and two 10 650 oxycodone every day for over two years. How hard will it be to stop these medications?

My personal opinion is that because the difficulty of withdrawal is also dependent upon a combination of one's mental, emotional, spiritual and physical fortitude, comparing how bad someone else's unique situation was wont necessarily reflect how your experience will play out, for better or for worse.

Just as an example, I know people who've been smoking for 15 years straight and undergo some serious withdrawals upon quitting. All the while, my father smoked for 40+ years and quit cold turkey with only a couple weeks of mild cold symptoms. I understand opiates are a different story, but I wanted to help put things into perspective when evaluating someone else's feedback and how different your outcome may be despite what they had gone through.

With the right tapering schedule, healthy foods, plenty of rest, strong social support, and some form of exercise or walking each day, I belief that you'll be much better equipped to handle whatever challenges arise along the way.

I have decades of experience with most commonly prescribed opiates and street drugs as well. If I used the opiates you described daily for 2 years I would have serious withdrawals. They would be nasty for about 3-4 days, like having a serious case of the flu along with intermittent psychotic episodes and depression. Then for about 2 or 3 weeks you would feel dysphoric and have no energy.
