First off, Citicoline is the active ingredient, so therefore it is the generic name.
In the U.S. it is an over the counter supplement, used in some energy drinks, as an alertness aid.
I do, however, understand, that in some other countries it is used as a medication.
I do not know what country you are in, so I have no way of discovering what it may be prescribed for or what name brand it is sold under.
