I just want to know what this drug is for and side effects

My doctor is changing me from Paxil to this drug, because of the interaction it has with the Tomoxifen I am taking. Will this have the same adverse action?

Citalopram is an antidepressant, commonly sold under the brand name Celexa.

It is in the same drug class as Paxil, both are Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitors, however, I see nothing listed warning about using them with Tamoxifen. I suggest you double check this information with your pharmacist, they will have more details on such possible interactions.

Some of the most common side effects for Citalopram may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and dry mouth.
