UpdatedMy 17 y/o daughter has had diarrhea so severe is has required hospitalizations x2. We have had her scoped twice a EGD twice a capsule Endoscopy once and this haas been going on for almost a year she lost over 30 lbs. Know one can help us she is scared I am scared. She now has episodes of incontinence and today and tonight she says she feels like she is dying. When I take he rto the ER all they do is hydrate her and then send us home. I am so worried aadn so tired of watching her suffer like us. She can not eat anything without having diarrhea immediately afterwards. Sometimes her diarrhea is so bad one stool is a 20 minute gush of liquids I need help where do I go to get it. We have exhausted 3 MD's here in KS I can not wait any longer

I am very sorry you are both going through this.
It does definitely sound as if there has to be something causing her problem.
It seems they ran some tests, did not find an answer and gave up looking.
this site is not medical professionals, so have no clue as to what may be causing it or how to solve her problem. I really wish we did.
Is she staying properly hydrated at home? If she isn't, this can cause severe diarrhea in itself. I know it seems odd, but it is true.
She may also be suffering from a virus or some type of infection.
At this point, there probably isn't much you can do, except to keep nagging the doctors and hospitals until they come up with answers.
I have unfortunately been in similar circumstances myself and was misdiagnosed for many years, until someone finally performed the right tests.

This page can give you some other ideas on what can cause this!
Check out IBStreatmentcenter.com. The MD there specializes in finding the causes of IBS. Could be food intolerance/allergy, could be parasite, could be bacterial problem. He can consult patients over the phone and probably send testing kits to you so you don't have to come to Seattle. He helped me find a parasite that was causing trouble. Good luck!
I'm not a medical person either, but have them consider Mastocytosis. Look it up - hard to find any doctors who have actually dealt with it or even heard of it. I have it and I know what she's going through. Good Luck.
i have had crohns disease since 1996& thats sounds EXACTLY what my symptoms were..' i went thru all the gi doctors in savannah ga and finally found one that cared...ck her out for crohns...ill be happy to talk to u more..im on facebook listed under Tonda Lane Joyner ill b glad to share any thing
Val: Even tho there is no diagnosis, as yet, do push the fluids, & don't give up on finding a doctor who will work to get to the bottom of this! I went thro something similar 4 yrs ago. Same symptoms. And was also losing 1 lb a day until I'd lost 30 lbs in a very short time. I finally was referred to a knowledgable Gastroenterologist who put me in hospital and did a type of small bowel/lower bowel endoscopy exam, under light anesthesia. He explained, they can get the scope up higher in the small bowel if the patient is under a light anesthesia. Otherwse, it's too painful, and the patient would have difficulty allowing the exam to be completed. Several samples were taken from different areas of the intestines, and I rec'd a diagnosis of Celiac Disease. I became almost housebound because I would just get instant diarrhea, with absolutely no warning. Nothing I could do would stop the diarrhea once it started. For me, a gluten free diet soon put an end to my problems. I know your daughter has probably had lots of tests. Has Celiac testing been one of those tests? I'm not a doctor, just another patient who, like your daughter was very ill for a very long time, before I found a specialist who took an interest in my case and worked with me till we found an answer. Is there a teaching hospital nearby that you could get a referral to? That might be a starting place. I wish you good luck, in your endeavors.
plz do the stool examination and take homoeopathic treatment avoid outside eatables.
Have they tested you for Crones Disease? If not you should talk to your doc and ask to be tested.
