Cholestyramine Flavor

For the past six months, I've taken cholestyramine~ 4 scoops a day. I've discovered that (silk brand) coconut milk interacts with cholestyramine and makes it frothy! And it masks that factory taste! Chunky applesauce also adds texture. Anyhow, the cholestyramine is working!

Hi I just started this med on Monday. Keep going to bathroom & am so nauseaus. I have not taken it today because of the nausea. I was prscribed this nasty tasting med for post gallbladder surgery 2 yrs post surgery. Any advice would be appreciated. F

That's awesome! I'm glad you've discovered something that works. The prescribing information provided by the FDA also says that it can be mixed with soups or other fruits, such as chunky pineapple, as long as their is enough liquid.

The typical side effects of this medication may possibly including dizziness, drowsiness and constipation.

Is there anything I can help with?
