Chest Congestion

I am 52 yrs old. I feel dry cough and chest congestion. Earlier doctor prescribed me AB Phylline &Deslor tablet. Nt felt a relief by this tablet permanently. I m nt having any tablets now only using avessa inhaler thrice a day. Can u suggest some effective medicines namely syrup or antibiotic tablets for chest congestion, dry cough and wheezing sometimes.

Hello, Deepa! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

What did the doctor say was causing your problem? Did they do any evaluations to determine the cause?

Antibiotics are only effective at treating bacterial infections, so if you're not suffering from one, then taking one would not be appropriate. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

Do you have asthma? Are you allergic to anything?
