Chantix And Confidentiality

I am in the medical field and have seen the changes since Obamacare has taken effect. Every doctor must now ask if you have ever smoked and this is where premiums will go up in the near future. All I want to do is be smoke free - how can I do this and keep it confidential?

Even if you quit now, you'll never be able to answer no to that question, since you have been a smoker. There's just really no way to keep it confidential from medical personal, because it could affect some necessary medical treatments, such as anesthesia, if you require surgery.

You don't have to tell them how you quit or etc. but you can't hide the fact that you were once a smoker.

Chantix is listed by the FDA as being used for smoking cessation. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and unusual dreams.
