Hi, Sharon! How are you?
And yes, it may elevate your blood pressure and heart rate, most antihistamines can do so.
Whether or not you can take one will usually depend on how much it can raise it and what your blood pressure readings have been.
For instance, I was given permission to take Benadryl and since it works so well for allergies, I've pretty much stuck with it ever since.

You may want to ask your doctor about taking it, since it doesn't usually cause as much of an elevation as most others.
Do you take any other medications?
