Why would it be given to someone who is not a transplant patient?

Does the person in question have some type of immune disorder? This medication is an immune suppressant, so it may be helpful with certain other medical conditions that do not involve having a transplant.

Its typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, diarrhea, edema and high blood pressure.
