Ceftum 500

my son has recently gone to America from India and is 18 years of age. He suffers from tonsil infection very often.So his doctor has prescribed Ceftum 500. now he had the same sore throat with throat pain and nose block. Is it safe to take the medicine in America? people are saying that the same medicine may have adverse effect due to change of weather and environment. is that so?

No, it's his body that matters, not the outer environment and it's actually usually safer to take a drug that's approved and available in North America than it is to take one anywhere else, because the U.S. and Canada have much stricter regulations and quality control in place.

Ceftum contains the active ingredient Cefuroxime and the side effects listed here are the same as those listed everywhere else in the world and might include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
