Can You Take Oxycodone With Subutex

I've taken subutex for a long time know for chronic pain, in my opinion it's been awesome. I just had surgery. My surgeon was very forthcoming about everything. My issue now is can I go back to subutex after my last dousing of oxycodone 20s and 20s timed released. I've done it before but opposite, like when I was on subutex I had taken oxycodone but im freaking myself out because of everything I'm reading... every one makes it seem completely different.... It's not suboxone.... it's subutex. It really bothers me when people put it in same category, they assume it's the same. But I have way to many stitches to be throwing up..

It’s crazy what all I read on this site. Some people do NOT need to be responding to the questions because they obviously have NO CLUE about what they are talking about. Like suboxone and subutex are NOT the same thing, so done answer the questions like they are.
My question... I am on subutex but am dealing with a lot of pain right now and was thinking about taking one of my 30mg roxicodone pills. Is that ok? Will I get relief?
I took a small piece of the orange sub pill..is that suboxone or subutex? And if i take a lortab will i feel it?..I'm very sick coming off of opiates. I have tried to get help every where.. in patient, out patient, you name it, but i dont have insurance and cant get medicaide. I dont want to waste the couple of tabs I have if I'm not gonna feel it. I know you can take pain meds with the white pills but not the strips...anyone know?
I used to switch between the two a lot. I would take the oxycodone for about a week every month for extremely bad cramps, or if I had a cyst. The only thing I noticed was that I had to take my last dose of oxycodone a few hours before bedtime, and then would start the subs right when I woke up the next day. Occasionally I would have mild withdrawal, but it would usually go away within a few hours, especially if I'd take extra subs. I am only on the subs now, and it sucks. For one week a month, I'm just in horrible pain. The subs do help a little. But when I was on both, I never got precipitated withdrawal. At least not too bad. A few hours of feeling mildly s***ty. I know your post is old, so I hope your surgery went well and that you came up with a good pain management plan. Let us know how it went!
Hello, Shay! How are you?
Subutex contains Buprenorphine, which can also block other opiates from working or throw someone into precipitated withdrawals, due to the fact that it takes a stronger hold on the opiate receptors, so it tends to kick others out and prevent them from working.
Suboxone combines Buprenorphine and Naloxone, so it does more to kick other opiates out and prevent them from working, while someone is taking it.
Thus, they are are actually very similar and can cause the same types of problems.
The FDA warns that both carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
