Can Subutex Be A Small White Round Pill With 8 On One Side And An Arrow On The Other (Page 3)
UpdatedMy friend takes 8mg subutex and when he picked up his script today, they weren't the usual white tablet. They were white and the size of a 2mg subutex with an 8 on one side and an arrow on the other. Could his pharmacist have made a big mistake or are these just a different brand??
The post below was in reply to Kaitlyn's post. Probably shoulda stuck that in there...sorry.
And yes people, we know Subutex/Suboxone works and is well worth the try, if taken correctly. The man asked a question about the kind of pill his friend received, not for a counseling session. And EDDIE...you're right. I'm on the same page as you. You've taken both kinds so you actually know what I'm talking about.
hi geoffrey...i just read your 12/24 post and have more questions, lol...i'm actually kinda smart, but when it comes to this stuff i get confused quick...i'm not sure which post of mine it is, but if you read the last 1 or 2 from 'Danielle' you should get a general idea of where i'm at and where i was...i have never taken anything besides the 8 mg subox name brand tablet and the name brand film...i was very lucky to learn about the suboxone the way i did...it was late september 2010, one day after my 40th bday, and i was in a place so bad even now my stomach sinks to my feet when i think about that night, and i'm glad I remember it because it keeps me vigilante and filled with a healthy fear...i had almost 5 years clean on my own, never heard of suboxone, and this time around i called a friend I'd lost touch with a year or 2 ago and suspected he'd had a bad go with pain killers...long story short, he gave me a few along with the name # & address of his doc...since 9/30/10 i've been off the killers...i was never aware of subutex until i joined this forum a little over a year ago...i wonder why my doctor didn't tell me about subutex...i think it seems more people take this over suboxone? i know that nasty ingredient in the subox is the stuff that's supposed to make it abuse proof, correct?
do you think my doctor would have a problem with my asking to try this other sub? I know it's a matter of time before my 30 day script gets filled with film...maybe it would be a good thing...im up for approval again (every 6 months) with my insurance, AETNA, to continue to cover my prescription which they've done for over 2 years...suboxone is the name brand only as you know, and while i have a $10 copay, i know this med is insanely high-priced, and perhaps I'll get booted in february and then my only real option would be subutex since i gather they have a generic....but i believe you may have said it was lousy? I must do some research here....thanks for any info u can provide...thank u....
i am on the suboxen strips for 2 years now.. i was never prescribed the tablets. i hate to admit this but a couple of times early on when i would cut myself short for the month i would buy a couple from someone else, she was prescribed the tablets, i really don't see that much of a difference. i mean maybe if i did it often but i really think that as addicts we are afraid of change and changing a medication that we have taken for so long and have grown to trust to get through the day is scary. i think if u give the films a chance and try not to dwell on it it may not be as bad as you think. also when i was first inducted they made me feel sick also but it goes away in time as long as i remember to eat im ok.
also about 2 months ago when i was at the pharmacy to refill i was asking about subutex prices and what not bc i am a cash pay and suboxen is a little pricey, the pharmacist told me that some company has started to make tex films and they would be out soon.....
Ive been clean 2years tg for subutex. And b/c of it im a happy healthy 25yr old 2 beautiful kids and soon to b wife also. I would have lost literally everything I live for. Where im from u only get subutex 2 ways pregnant or allergic to reg suboxone and im allergic. Subutex saved my life well possible death of heroin overdose. So to all of u clean and serious of ur recovery amen to you. Those who actually get on here talking about sniffing or shooting this med is insane and not fair to uS who had nothingg left no other options and I wasnt going on methadone with kids. I have energy everyday I take 1 in a half subutex daily. I get the white bigger pill. Some get the small ones but now most get strips and I hear they rgointo mint flavor. All I know is this drug saves lives not meant to b abused I mean did u even try taking it normal? I was addicted to sniffing my favorite thing and inever thought to sniff my subutex cuz it wasnt the point of me gettin on them it was to brake old addiction not make new addiction. But a friend in cali says they only give subutex but so many ppl abuse them they wanna stop giving them out to neone but pregnant or severe medically proven allergies (deadly) well thats how it is in mass neways. It took me a month of buying my script before my insurance approved dr.s medical reasoning. No refund paid in full. Nearly made me relapse cuz I couldnt afford it but got thru it. But this drug truely is a life saver and I will be a lifer and I dont feel ashamed to admit that. Have happy and safe recoveries to those who wanna be helped and get on living a normal life.
Hey Danielle-
Back in November, I had hit the donut hole in my Medicare prescription plan, which meant that instead of getting prescriptions covered at 80% (more or less), they were only paying 10% amd I had to shell out the other 90%, which, for Suboxone ended up being close to $600. I have been clean off of opiate drugs for three years this past July, taking only Suboxone for the chronic pain I suffer in my leg as a result of a bad motorcycle accident back in 2006 that left me permanently disabled. Anyway, the Walgreen's pharmacist checked prices for me, and we found out that if the doctor would switch me to generic subutex (it's just called sublingual buprenorphine), the out of pocket cost to me would only have been $149 instead of $600. So, here's what I did. I asked the pharmacist to print out all those price comparisons (between Suboxone, Name-brand Subuted, and generic Subutex), and I took them all to my medication shrink, and when he saw the cost difference, he switched me right over to generic subutex (buprenorphine) right away, and apologized for not doing it sooner!!!
Sometimes, as recovering people, we get tongue-tied asking for meds or different formulations because we worry it might be seen as drug-seeking behavior by the doctors. However, if you arm yourself with the facts, and make a reasonable request of your doctor based on the dollars and sense, I bet you will have good luck. Also, one last thing: If you DO get switched onto generic subutex, ask your pharmacy for the TINY ones with the 8 on one side and the arrow on the other - they are about 1/4 the size of the other generic, dissolve in just under two minutes, and they don't taste awful like the big ones do. I also have found the tiny ones work better for me. Again, good luck with everything.
I actually had a baby on subutex & he came out withdrawaling & the stupid doctor said that it was worse than roxys! I know what I've heard from doctors about it is true,(that it's safer) but honestly I didn't see anything wrong with him, he was a little fussy from being in the nicu but what baby doesn't cry! To be honest I think she was judging me on my past!!
I have been on subutex for a little over a year bcuz of my baby..I was on suboxone tabs for 3yrs before that and the tex are alot better. I get the big ones but I did get the small ones once r twice and they suck I think. But I heard they r coming out w a subutex film strip now and I wanted to knw if anyone else has heard that bcuz I really do not want tex strips whatsoever!
So HATE ins. Companies!!
Have they started working? It was just today that I received the tiny ones. The thing about buprenorphrene(sp) is that once it fills all your receptors, that's it they are full. Where the higher dose comes in, I haven't figured out yet and I have taken as much as 8mg dose.
Thing about it is, I was ordering this stuff from India to the place I lived at the time. It came in tablet form and were blister packs. Many of the old timers can tell you about them. They were 0.5ug(micrograms) and sold as Temgesic i think it was called. But it was bupe alright. At the time I was taking up to 8 hydrocodone 10/325's. if I ran out I switched to the bupe and used 2 of the tablets at a time about twice a day as they just made me feel normal and lasted. So now I live in the states and use bupe for pain management but I am given the 8mg tablets that are to be taken as 1/2 trouce three time daily. I honest was a little upset at the small size as I chop them into 16-32 pieces each. And been working just fine. So I'm still confused about the dosages given. My Dr was oblivious of the temgisic use going back to years before Suboxone. I do think that Subutex has been around a long time in Europe. I recall reading something about that in an article about addictions towards opiates. Supposed to be the miracle drug. They were right...but I think the high doses does something to your receptors were 8mg is the normal feeling. I still take just chips of these and feel great.
Recently I went to see my grandma and only took one tablet with me thinking I would be there 4 days. She feel ill and I had to stay 2 weeks. The one 8 mg got me through the whole 2 weeks with change.
Hopefully people will look this up, and cut their doses. I'm not saying doc has to know as the extras will last and build up a supply for an emergency.
It's the right thing.
it is a generic but the same
How do I get my doctor to hook me up with subutex? I need it bad. I am an IV heroin and opiate user. Please help me!
Yes me to I never want to go back to drug life and it makes me sick when that's all people want it for is cause they r out of there dope but give it time they will f*** it up for the people that is really trying
Actually you are wrong about everything. The ingredients in the larger subutex are inactive ingredients, they in no way affect the ACTIVE ingredient which is bupe. Smaller does not mean cheaper ie. roxicet, oxycontin... The larger ones are harder for junkies to abuse, that is why most pharmacies carry that brand. The active ingredient is the same.
u tell the Doctor the truth. u r addicted to the pain pills either oxycontin hydrocodone hydromorphone dilautid percodan percoset morphine sulfate possibly darvon darvocet least of all tramadol ultram. Most likely H brown tar west coast china white eastcoast. the problem is once a person experiences the nirvana euphoria u dont realize its the drug. and when u do realize that ur addicted u can't go back. well u can try but u will be miserable like sleeping on the floor next to a feather bed
I wanr anyone who take these they cause majorback up in your digestion. i didnt use the bathroom for 3 weeks after i took 2 of these. i would stick to any other subutex but these !
Is buprenorphine 8mg evenly distributed its a little white pill with 8 on one side and a arrow on the other I want to only take 4mg and its a 8mg pill but I don't know if its evenly distributed
yes igot the same ones today there diferent name brand what you need to do is call diferent pharmacies and see if they carry a diferend name brand than arrow which is what ypu have ,im not stisfied with this brand either!
Sorry, friend. I asked my pharmacist what the difference between the big pill Subutex and the little white 8's, and he showed me. The bigger tablet is packed with extra binders and fillers - mostly starches - to make it harder to abuse them. Both have exactly the same active ingredient: 8 mg of Buprenorphine. So, whichever size you prefer, ask for it. My Walgreens stocks both and unless you look really sagged out, they 'll give you the size pill you prefer!
Have a clear day!
