Can Oxycodone Give False Positive For Suboxone

I've ben on a pain clinic for a couple of years and taking oxycodone, nver taken anything not prescribed, yet I was told I am taken off the list for oxycodone because I tested positive for suboxone, I've never taken that or anything related to it I am 52 and not into drugs, so why did I get a false positive for suboxone what would cause it, Pleasee help

It shouldn't, however, there have been many recent posts about similar problems. From various pieces of information posted, it seems that some cheaper tests are not entirely accurate.

Normally these tests just look for a category of drugs, they have to use more specific tests to look for the specific ones.

That said, I really wish I knew how to help you. Have you tried requesting that they redo the test? There have been several people that have experienced a similar problem and a test done 24 hours or more later, proved that they had not done the drugs that the first test had detected.

If I were in your position, I would sit down with the doctor and have a serious talk about this issue. You should also ask them if the Oxycodone showed in your test.

I take codeine for a back injury. Recently i tested positive for buprenorphine. I have never taken this in my life. How is it possible? Are there medications that can give a false reading in this situation, like antihistamines such as 120mg clarinase or other pain killers like tramadol hydrochloride or even the codeine phos i have been taking for over 10 years. Are there any foods that would give a positive for buprenorphine? I heard poppy seeds do. Is this true. Just trying to figure out why i have tested positive over 2 months.

i have been a long time suboxone user and been doing great but recently was put on probation. i had to drop urine, the recults came back pos. for cocaine. inpossable i told them and asked to do another they said NO. CAN suboxone cause a false positive reading on cheap court tests?

After I weened off soboxene I vowed never to take a prescription medication again. I started taking L torisyn, valerian root, and kava kava. I also take hydroxy cuts to workout. The more I read about drug test coming up false positive the more nervous I become. I'm even freaking out about the sudafed I took a week ago for my allergies! Can someone help calm my nerves? this is a court urine test!!

i came up positive for percocet and sobexenyet i dont take the drugs i take methadone for cancer,told my dr, that you cant take methadone and sobexon without going through serious withdrawal please help what caused the false positives

Hey I need some serious feedback asap please! I am on Suboxone maintenance and it's been almost 60 days since I had a relapse of Oxycontin. I took 3 30mg OP tablets. You would think they would be out of my system at this point and time right? Well I decided to buy a 12 panel, home drug test kit which tested for oxycodone. I tested POSITIVE for OXY!!!! I have read some threads online where people have had similar experinces and claiming that the suboxone caused a false positive on the OXY panel. I would think it would depend on the drug testing kit. Though I think it's entirely possible that this test is just crap, and it could very well be a false positive. My appointment to see my doc is on Monday, and I believe he is going to drug screen me in the office. Should I come out and just tell him? Only thing is I'm scared he will drop me from treatment. What do you guys think???

No not a + for suboxone. yes a + for opiates. The test your doc administers for suboxone is a special test and only tests for suboxone. In the same sense Suboxone won't result in a + for opiates for example on a employment drug screen. It has to be tested for seperately like methadone. This is from my own experience.
