Yes it can. I have never did cocaine in my life and they said I was positive for it. Unbelievable!

I just had a baby and I was on metronidazole 500mg..I tested positive for cocaine!!! I never did anything, I was clean!!! And D.C.F took my baby from the hospital!!! Someone please help!! I'm fighting for my son.

Hey, so I was just wondering if you got an actual confirmation that it is possible for this medicine to cause a false positive for cocaine? I just recently tested positive for cocaine the day after I took this medicine. I'm on probation and no one believes me that I did not do any. I talked to my doctor and 3 pharmacists that can't back this up...help please!

This is CRAZY..... I have been drug testing at least once a week EVERY week for a year and a half.....EVERY single 1 of them have been clean. In May I had 3 tests all come back dirty for cocaine... The ONLY new medication I was taking is Metronidazole 500mg.... I KNOW I WAS CLEAN!!!!

I failed a hair test for cocaine and the only new medication i was taking was methronidazole by the doctor. Is this true it could be a false positive for cocaine?

I have never done cocaine in my life and I failed my pain management urine drug screen for cocaine on May 8th. I started taking it around April 27th for 7 days 2 x a day. I was just on metronidazole. My dr just told me I failed. Took my meds away and wants me to go for a sub abuse evaluation. Never used cocaine. Has anyone figured anything out yet?
