Hello, Rich! How are you?
If your doctor approves and it's legal there, you can. In the U.S. it isn't legal to take someone else's medications.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
Is there anything else I can help with?
