I'd like to add some information for anyone in a similar situation that's seeking an answer…

Bactrim is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections…..and everyone reading this knows there's a but coming….

But…..it may not necessarily be the right antibiotic to treat a dental infection and if you just have medication left over from another infection, you likely don't have enough to take a full course of it and fully eradicate the infection, which could cause you to develop antibiotic resistance.

Learn more Bactrim details here.

Now, since this is one of the few that's effective against MRSA, developing resistance to it is very dangerous.

Another point I have to make is that the antibiotic will not help with whatever underlying issue has caused the dental infection, such as deep caries or an exposed nerve.

Therefore, you really need to see your dentist as soon as possible.

Are there any questions or comments?
