Can I Take Something Similar To Tramadol Stop Coughing

My husband was prescribed Tramadol for back pain to stop the spasm, but we also noticed they stopped the persistent cough he had had for weeks, can he get something similar that would work as well.

It would require a prescription, just like the Tramadol, but there are medications used for cough that contain Codeine or Hydrocodone.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
