Can I Take Effient
UpdatedMy doctor just put me on effient today, the problem is I'm on my menstural cycle. Is it ok to take it

Hi Michelle,
Because Effient (Prasugrel) can put you at risk for serious bleeding, it may be a good idea to discuss this concern with your doctor before moving forward with treatment.

NOTE: The bleeding mentioned in the warning section isn't necessarily related to bleeding that occurs during a menstrual cycle, so It's quite possible that it may still end up being fine for you to take. However I would always suggest playing it safe until further notice from your doctor, since you never really know what to expect from these types of medications.
