Hello, Bambi! How are you?
This medication does not become toxic, once expired, but it does start to lose efficacy, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new, which also creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Thus, it would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription, if an infection is present.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
Is there anything else I can help with?
