For the best outcome, it is always best to follow your doctor's instructions. He may want you to take a break from them, for a bit, to see what happens, though only your doctor can explain their decision.
However, I wonder if perhaps they meant for you to stay on it for a month, rather than waiting a month?
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
