It is normal to experience fluctuations throughout the day, according to the NIH, it can be affected by activity levels, diet, stress and etc.
As to the medication, you should not exceed your doctor's dosing instructions. This medication will not work immediately to lower blood pressure, even at a higher dose. It takes about 4 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body.
