Can I Have Cigarettes While Taking Oxycodone

I just got a acl surgery and i got prescribed oxycodone 325 mg.. but I've been craving a cigarette. i would like to know if it affects me in any way?

Well, I'm sure I don't have to tell you that smoking is always bad for you.

The issues between smoking and taking a narcotic are due to the depression of the central nervous system that the narcotic can cause, it can lower your rate of breathing and smoking tends to make breathing even harder. You may also experience more dizziness than usual.

The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, if your doctor okays it, just be careful, since you may get dangerously dizzy and watch for any trouble breathing.

Yes, not as severely as actual cigarettes, but it does still have an effect on the lungs and they still contain nicotine.
