Can Hydrocodone Cause Hives

I been having hives on and off for the past two months. I just don't know the cause of it. I had taken all types of allergy pills and nothing helps. The only ones that had worked for me are the prednisone, but my doctor can't prescribed me that as a medication. He had only given me two refills of 5 pills and I only save them for when I get the hives really bad, like when I get them on my eyes and lips or on my hands, that makes me go crazy. They hurt so bad and itch when they keep getting bigger. What else can I take that will help the swollen and itchy redness go away?

That does sound like you could be experiencing an allergic reaction to something, and yes, it is possible that it could be the Hydrocodone, according to the FDA.

Rather than trying to treat the reaction, since repeated exposure could cause it to worsen, according to NIH reports, it would be best to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication.

Is this the only medication you are currently taking?
