Can Gabapentin 300 Mg Cause Weight Gain

Hi I'm on gabapentin 300mg 3x's a day a total of 900mg. daily
does this medication cause weight gain& are there any other side
affects I should be concerned about? I'm reading different testimony's
but not really getting a concrete answer?

Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that can also help with some types of nerve pain and mood disorders, so yes, it may cause some weight gain as a side effect, but that doesn't happen to everyone that takes it.

Other side effects may include nausea, drowsiness and mood swings.

Hi, I don’t know about gain weight but I sure can tell you that Gabapentin one side effect is that makes you itch all over your body and that is your hands, feet, back, nose, face I mean it’s miserable specially at night time.

Gabapentin Yes it will cause weight gain and I was on and gained 40pounds and had to quit taking due to falling asleep in public places also.also mood changes should be watched for too.

Itching is a side effect and usually associated with a allergic reaction.A lot of times doctors are not aware of side effects and just well blow it off but talk to a pharmacist they know drugs way better

Sorry I really don’t have an idea, what I know is that I developed an itch that it was incredible until I stop on my own not having the idea that what it was until I asked the question on Chrome ( Google) that’s how and found out that the Gabapentin medication cause your body to itch ( side effects ).

I take 400mg 3xs a day and about 45 minutes after taking it I get extremely hungry and can do some damage in that time. If I just resist wanting to eat during that time it goes away. That’s my weight problem with gabapentin.
