You shouldn't give a child anything that hasn't been prescribed for them by their doctor.

Teva lists this capsule as containing 500mgs of Cephalexin, which is an antibiotic and yes, it can be prescribed for children to treat infections.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
