Can A Single 2000mg Dose Be Harmful?
UpdatedI have an infection. I was wondering if (4) 500mg capsules can be taken at once. I remember being prescribed the same dosage of another antibiotic and was instructed to do all at once. It was a chalky metallic tasting pill cant remember the name of it.

Hello, Curious Cat! How are you?
What type of infection? Has it been confirmed by your doctor?
A high dosage at once isn't actually harmful, but when it comes to this antibiotic, it is not going to effectively eradicate the infection. It needs to be taken at regular intervals, throughout the day, for the full dosing period.
Side effects to this antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
