Can A Doctor Measure Levels Of Percocet In Your System (Top voted first)
UpdatedI suffer from fibromyalgia. My current doctor sent me to a pain clinic. I have been taking my percocet 10/325 for two days now, three times a day, from an old prescription. Is there any way that it can be measured to see the levels of percocet that have been taken?

Hello, Sherry! How are you?
Yes, they can. That's how they know if a patient is taking their medication as prescribed, or not taking it, there's a simple test that tells them the level in the person's body. It should fall within a certain range and anything outside of that alerts them that there may be a problem. The same is true if you've not been prescribed anything recently and they detect it in your system.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Can they tell with a 9 panel blood test?
How long does oxycodone remain in your system? I am taking a drug panel for employment soon. I've been prescribed 10 mg oxycodone 2X daily for pain. Also, are potential employers usually looking for narcotics in a routine pre-employment drug panels?
Renee, as long as you have a current prescription for it, you should be fine. There are some jobs that won't allow you to take certain meds and work. If you had one of these jobs or were interested in them, you should know what the requirements are. Employers are looking for certain drugs like pain meds and stimulants as well as illegal drugs like marijuana. As I said earlier as long as you have a current prescription for drugs you're taking you should be fine. With marijuana, it is different. Even if marijuana is legal in the state you're in and you have a medical Marijuana Card, that does not mean that an employer will hire you or won't fire you if you test positive for marijuana.
