Can I Take Two 10mg Oxycodone

I take 10mg oxycodone every 8 hrs as needed for pain it is pink, round has a 12 on one side an N P on the other. I've been on this dose for about 18 months and most of the time it works great for my chronic lower back pain. Sometimes tho my pain level jumps to a ten and I still have 4 hrs before my next dose. It's unbearable! Can I take my dose any sooner when that happens?

You should only take the amount prescribed by your doctor, especially if you aren't tolerant to narcotics.

If it isn't handling your pain, it would be best to consult your physician, rather than just doubling up on your own, so you don't risk overdose.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
