Calvepen Side Effects And The Contraceptive Pill Yasmin

I have been prescribed calvepen 666 mG for tonsillitis and am currently taking the contraceptive pill yasmin. My question is will the antibiotics interfere with the effectiveness of the pill? Do I need to use extra protection?

Yes, this antibiotic may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, so you should use backup protection.

The FDA lists other side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
