can i put my butran patch over my tattoo without messing it up

I'm unable to find any sort of advice on this topic over the internet...But in reality if you are worried about anything happening to your tattoos, then I would look into other alternative or natural pain medications beside patches.
Are there any other parts of your body where you can effectively apply the patch that aren't tattooed (i.e. back, shoulders, neck, calves, thighs, chest)?
