Butalbital Acetaminophen Caffeine 50/325/40 Uses
UpdatedHow long does it take for the pain from a bad migraine to go away? I've been taking the pills for 3 days and I still have my bad migraine.

Hello, Char! How are you? I am so sorry about the migraine.
It should have helped by now, if it was going to do so. As detailed by the NIH, these types of medication usually start to work within 15 to 20 minutes of taking them, so relief should be felt soon after.
It might be time to explore other migraine relief options, such as different medications. Dilaudid is often used by hospital ERs to treat them. Have you ever tried it? It's an idea you can discuss with your doctor, anyway.
The FDA does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation.
Char,
Migraines can be debilitating evidently the butabarbital has proven ineffective for your needs.there are terrific non narcotic meds available since opiates and or opioids (dilaudid or morphine) tend to cause rebound effect headaches for many clinical migraine sufferers. I'd highly suggest you follow up with a specialist to be evaluated if only to rule out any serious or life threatening underlying disorder. I hope you find the relief you seek. God speed...
Hello I've been having severe migraine headaches for about 9 days now and at the ER 4 times ( CT'scan, MRI)i was prescribed Methylprednlsolone tablets,Butalb/Acet/caff and Ketorolac but iam still having moderate headaches .I don't know what to do now
Try Midrin. My primary prescribed it for me while I was waiting to see a neurologist. It Works. I now take Fioricet which always worked in my migraines in the past but sometimes it doesn't work so I would take a Midrin instead and it definitely works. Pray you get relief
For me, this medication (acetaminophen/butalbital/caffeine 50-325-40) is not as strong as it used to be. I used to take the generic that they no longer sell anywhere and it had MIA on one half and 110 on the other. It was a white oblong pill by the manufacturer mycart. Those worked wonderfully for me. Now I’m taking a round blue pill which I can double the dose to get the same relief from and then pray it’ll work. I wish you all the luck because my migraines won’t go away with any other manufacturer. I did find that if I took 2 three times a day out of the blue pill it prevented me from getting a migraine but my doctor stopped that.
I had the same problem. Midrin would work most of the time but if it didn't then no amount of pain medication would stop it. I asked my neurologist to just give me something to make me sleep since that seemed to be the only relief I could get. Now Midrin is off the market and after 20 years my migraines are back. Hope this helps you get relief. Sleeping pills helped me.
That medication usually works within 30 minutes for me. Sometimes I need to take another one 4 hours later, but that’ll do it for me. 3 days probably means it won’t work for you. I’m sorry.
