How long after I start taking buspirone will I start to notice if I have side effects from the medicine? How long will it take after I stop taking the medicine for my side effects to go away? Will it interact with clozaril? Thanks.

Hello, John! How are you?

There's no definitive time frame for when side effects may start, if you experience any, it depends on the person and the dosage. Some people may experience some soon after taking their first dose, but some people never experience any of them.

Generally, there is a peak about 4 to 6 weeks in, after that, your body starts to adjust to the medication and the side effects typically taper off, until going away entirely.

The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, dry mouth, headache and vision changes.

And when they go away can vary, depending on how long you were taking it.

Is there anything else I can help with?
