Bupropion Sr 150 Vs Hcl Xl 150

Can you tell me if there is a differance in the effect to the patiant with these two pills? or are they really the same. Was on Bupropion SR 150 MG once a day.
refill says Bupropion HCL XL 150 MG Tablet once a day. used for Depression in 14 year old female?

They are the same, the SR and XL both just designate it as being a time released formulation of the medication. There are just several different abbreviations for it used by manufacturers and pharmacies.

I take bupropion xl and have sent back the sr tablets because they dont last through the evening. A druggist told me I would have to take two sr tabs a day. XL means extended release. My doctor changed my script to XL

I was started on the XL, which is meant to last 24 hours, and it was wonderful with one very important exception: I was unable to sleep. The SR is intended to be taken twice a day, so now I am trying the SR only in the morning, with the hope that I'll be able to sleep.
