Bupropion Hcl 150mg Xl Tab Act

My husband is taking bupropion hcl 150 mg medication in the morning along with citalopram 40 mg in the evening for depression. This is only the second day for the bupropion. He is 85 and also on Coumadiin.
He is complaining this afternoon of like a stiff neck. Is this a reaction to the bupropion? He intends to stop taking the medication tomorrow morning until he can contact his primary care DR. Should he stop taking both medications citalopram tonight and bupropion tomorrow morning? Do we need to go to the ER yet today for these symtoms?

At that point, it wasn't life-threatening to require a trip to the ER, but yes, the Bupropion has been known to cause a stiff neck and/or sore/stiff muscles in general in some people that take it.

I was initially prescribed zoloft and that made me gain 10 lbs. I also felt super apathetic and behind but it did not matter. I wouldn't say wellbutrin made me loose weight directly. It's like it makes you less apathetic so you are more likely to go work out or to cook a healthy meal for yourself. After the Zoloft failed the doctor said to try Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin 150 mg sr is what I was initially prescribed for depression/ SAD. I also have add and it helps with both. In fact I think Wellbutrin helps more than any other add medication I have ever tried. I have been taking it each winter for three years now. I have not gained any weight but I was never over weight to begin with. It did take me about 6 months to get back down to my normal weight but I think it was more because of increase stress not my medication.
