Hi there. I have experienced different and unpleasant side effects with generic forms of Wellbutrin SR 200mg. The two generic forms I can take are Watson and Actavis. Ask the pharmacy if they can order the generic brand for you. I did this with Walgreens. They take care of me every time. :)
Hi, I have taken Bupropion SR 150mg by Actavis for over 2 years and had felt great. Recently Target changed it to Mylan and I'm back to my depression, short temper, angry...it's horrible. Any other manufacturers that you have encountered to help?? Or know where I can refill w/ Actavis as manufacturer?
Someone please help :(
I was on Wellbutrin SR 150mg for several years. 2x daily.by Sandoz.. Worked great.. Due to other reasons I took same med by Actavis for 3 months.2x day..not good....on the latter I felt so sluggish all the time..I woke up exhausted went to bed exhausted even after sleeping all night.. I've had to experiment with the times to take it..works best for me 6:30am & NLT 12 Noon..if I forget the noon pill I'm dragging by 3pm. If I take it too late I'm awake all night. Wellb.by Sandoz has been my lifesaver...
I am feeling better, thank u for responding .I have felt better the past 2 days no more panic attacks. I am hoping u are right n I just needed time to ajust. I did not realize a different off brand could do that so it truly scared me.I'm going to keep a close eye out for any other problems n if any thing I will contact the doctor as u said.Thank u again very much
I have had the same problem with numerous medications when filled from a different manufacturer. You are most likely having trouble with one of the inactive ingredients in the Sandoz version. You can look up the inactive ingredients in these different products at this website and compare them with the one you didn't have trouble with: dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?id=3334 (this is an example for doxycycline). Just Google "inactive ingredients for (drug name)" and this site will come up somewhere in the list.
I resorted to having some prescriptions prepared at a compounding pharmacy to avoid this issue. It is somewhat more expensive and your doctor has to approve it on the prescription, but it can be worth it to avoid these reactions.
There can be some fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic to another, they are usually slight and considered to be therapeutically insignificant, but there are some cases where someone can be sensitive to any fluctuation and they may experience problems.

It has only been a few days, so you may want to give it a little more time to see if you start to adjust and feel better. If not, then you may need to contact your doctor to explore possibly solutions.
How are you feeling today?
