Buprinorphine Pain Treatment For Cats
UpdatedI'm wondering what the side effects are when using buprinorphine oral on cats. My 13 +? old rescued male is dealing with a kidney stone plus crystals in his bladder. I have a good understanding of how to treat for the stones/crystals but I'm wondering if there are any side effects that might make him nervous. He's getting 0.3mL by mouth every 12 hours. Any advice or experience would be helpful.thanks

Hello, Catmama! How are you?
The side effects in cats are very similar to those that people may experience, the FDA lists them as including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.
And yes, it could also cause nervousness, though that isn't very common.
Is there anything else I can help with?
