It is 30mgs of Oxycodone, but it is NOT an instant release tablet, it is a regular release tablet, a generic for Roxicodone, this is a potent narcotic pain reliever.
Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness.
You can read more on it here:

Do you have any questions?
Yes, it is immediate release as opposed to extended release (OxycONTIN). There is no regular release. IR and ER, immediate and extended. That's it.
I have "short gut syndrome" so I am very aware of absorption rates for pills (especially pain pills) for instance, the original Oycontin would come out of my stoma (from my illeostomy) WITH the #'s still on them, therefore, no pain relief. I was switched to the reg. oxycodone/NO APAP and have no problems. Although I've taken a drug test and my Ativan (instant release) taken every 4 hours, did NOT show on my UA. (?) And I think I heard them say I wasn't taking the full dose of my OC's, which I am. So even though my system is extremely fast, the beginning stages should start the same according to, Instant or long lasting or REGULAR as on someones comment. I DO believe there is a REG release because the Oxycodone K9 30mg seem to have a coating which would rule out instant release right away. I also don't get much relief from them, meaning to me, they are passing through too fast. So whether the pharmacy, the manufacturer, or Dr. says there are no in-betweens, I think there IS, definately! If you leave a pill on your tounge and scrape it across a few seconds or mins later and there are no streaks, there's obviously a coating. (I noticed nobody commented on the "ghost" capsules that were in the original Oxycontins, but that also had to do with their release time. I studied that "most" people pass them also, but unless you're really inspecting your outflow...you probably won't see them. Hope this helps anyone who believes there are "Instant" "Regular" &"Long Acting" pills.
that is why I chew them up and then swallow them.
There is no regular release, only immediate and sustained .
FYI....I am a medical professional, there is no such thing as Regular Release, they are either Instant (IR) or extended (ER) and sometimes called (EC) for enteric coated which is also an extended release.
The k9s dont have a coating. They're the same as any other generic brand oxycodone 30mg tablet. Instant release...There is no in betweens... lol.... if they're not working for you consider speaking to your care providers directly about doing a peak and trough analysis to see how your body metabolized them.
I have a small round light blue pill that I am sure says K 9 on one side & nothing on the back. Is it a new formula for 30 mg Oxycodone? A generic probably. However, they don't seem to work nearly as good as the ones that were a little bit darker blue.
