Bisoprolol Alternative That Does Not Cause Wheezing

I have been on bisoprolol for several months to control AFIB and hypertension. However, I do have asthma and have started wheezing and it does not go away.
Metopolol did not work as well for the Afib. Is there another medication for the afib and blood pressure that would not cause the wheezing?

Hello, Sani! How are you?

Some of the other medications you can try include Carvedilol, Atenolol, Propranolol and Nadolol, however, they all risk causing the same side effects. It's really just a matter of trial and error to find which one works for you, without making you miserable.

When I was going through that due to high blood pressure, it took almost a year to find the right ones for me.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, dry mouth and hypotension.

Is there anything else I can help with?
