Hello, Gert! How are you?

If it is prescribed for you daughter, you shouldn't use. You should see your doctor to get something prescribed for you.

Betamethasone is a steroid and while it can help with allergic reactions, such as poison ivy, it could also make some skin conditions worse, so if you don't actually have poison ivy, you could be putting yourself at risk. You also don't need to antibiotic that it contains, that won't do anything for an allergic reaction.

Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, are usually related to its topical use and may include skin irritation, redness, burning, discoloration and acne.

What have you tried for your itching?
