Best Med For Staph Infection
UpdatedHave had recurring infection for over 10 years ON FACE, no less. No one seems interested in helping me to clear infection. They try one med or another but there never seems to be any real change. Anybody out there found a cure for staph. I got it while hospitalized and the hospital won't acknowledge my emails, much less help me to get rif of this. Scarring on face is noticeable and I think they should help me out. But, no one even acknowledges that I have contacted them. Is this a ploy to allow statute of limitations to run out?

Hi Ro,
I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, I have read that tea tree oil, also referred to as melaleuca, can be very beneficial to those dealing with an MRSA staff infection. There are other essential oils like lavender and helichrysm that could possibly help heal the scarring as well. Tea-tree oil has been used in Australia for over 80 years to treat skin and other infections, it has antiseptic, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties. It kills microorganisms that can cause diseases; which makes it useful in treating everything from acne, burns and cold sores to fungal infections, insect bites and inflammation etc.. Below is some information about how to properly cleanse the affected area and apply tea tree oil.
Be sure to cleanse the affected area twice a day with warm running water and a natural soap (I recommend Dr. Bronner's unscented castile soap). After you have cleansed the area thoroughly (but gently) dry it carefully with a paper towel and discard the towel in a plastic baggy to assure that no one else in your vicinity is exposed-since staph is very contagious.
After you have cleansed, apply the tea tree oil. (make sure that it is very high quality with no added alcohol or other ingredients) Apply the oil directly to the affected skin with either a cotton swab, cotton pad, or a cotton ball- depending on how large the area is. (Again, discard the cotton carefully after use). You may want to dilute the tea tree oil with a natural oil- I recommend coconut oil because it has antibacterial properties and absorbs fairly quick.
From what I've read, a well-advanced staph infection runs with pus almost continually. There is a product called Domeboro (Aluminim acetate), which should be available in drugstores. If applied as directed a couple times a day, it could help to dry up the pussy areas- for lack of a better term. In addition to cleansing the skin, it would be smart to wash your bed linens, towels and clothes separately and in hot water with bleach to kill the staph. Also, a fresh healthy green drink to start the day with will surely help boost your immune system and help your body to better fight off the infection!
One more tip- cut up some raw garlic cloves in slices and apply them directly to the affected area; then place a hot and damp washcloth on the area for 15 minutes two times a day.
