From what I've found, these are 200mg Benzonatate gels, it is distantly related to local anesthetics and is used as a cough suppressant.
Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and dysphagia.
And yes, it is very dangerous for children and has contributed to several overdose deaths.
I'm so very glad he didn't eat them.
