Hello, Emma! How are you? Was this medication prescribed for you?
It is an antibiotic, so it can help with various types of bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
It will not, however, treat pain. The only way it helps with that is if it helps to eradicate the infection, then the pain usually eases.
Either way, it does not negate your need to see a doctor or dentist, because you still need to have whatever issue that caused the infection fixed, or it will just keep returning.
