My name is Scott and I have been disabled since 2005. Have had lower back surgeries, cervical spine column damage and pain daily. For years I underwent therapy, spinal injections etc. I am from Pa. and just moved to Knoxville Ten. to help my daughter raise her new born. The father is in the picture but wants no marriage at this time. All treatments for 5 years did not help with my daily pain (actually made it worse). My PPC took over my meds, being two 10/325 of Percocet daily so I had a quality of life. It worked and have never abused, refused a higher dose or the step up to morphine. For 7 years I was given drug panels, never abused, never had an early refill - Not even 1 day. 3 days ago I keep them locked in the glove box of my car and never sold one (I need them to function myself). They were stolen. 100 of them out of 180. They were only filled 4 days prior. I am missing 150 and was to last till Nov. 29th. This script was from my Pa. Dr. and I need to know what to do?
Honesty is they were stolen and I could prove it if necessary. Should I report it to the police? I need help..can anybody give me some advice. I have 1 more written prescription from Pa. but now a Ten. Resident with Ten. insurance. I am willing to pay outright for my Pa. script. If there was a legal way to do so. I am 59 yrs. old and need help quick. Any Dr. in Knoxville who would help? Even if I have to pay out of pocket. Thanks...
Hello, Darin! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain.
However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe, or if they will or will not prescribe medications, that I can refer to for you.
Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that may be able to refer you to someone?
These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation.
Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?
