What brand is it?
Generic adrall or amphetamine salts or any generic drug drugs can have a considerable difference on your body. The testing required to get fda approval is much less than name brand drugs. That being said there are rules for making a generic drug.
The active ingredient must but the same as the name brand and provide aproximity the same dosage release in the body. There have been noted variances of dosage in many generic drugs and the fda allows a 7% variance in this release. The binders or inactive ingredients can very dramatically, as long as the drug creates a simular effect in the body and doesn't create too many additional side effects, even if some of the brand side effects are increased by the generic, the fda will approve it.

Also generics are allowed to change inactive ingredients after the drug has been approved "to reduce costs and make the drug more affordable." Paper work is required to do this but additional testing is not. There are some restrictions to the amount of inactive ingredients they can change at one time but the fact still remains. Your generic pill one week may be different the next. Name brand are not allowed to do this.

The FDA does NOT allow medication dosages to vary manufacturer to manufacturer. The US has very tight regulations regarding pharmaceuticals and you are misinformed.
If you have a 10mg tablet, it will contain 9.99 to 10.01mg of the active ingredient, every time.
Inactive Ingredients:
- Silicon Dioxide
- Starch, Corn
- Magnesium Stearate
- Cellulose, Microcrystalline
- Saccharin Sodium
- Fd&c Yellow No. 6
- Aluminum Oxide
The FDA does allow generics to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% in the active ingredient, so that gives 2 possibilities to explain your problem and since you didn't describe what you are experiencing, I cannot guess which one it is, but they are:
1) It has less of the active ingredient than what you are used to taking. In this case, what you experiencing could be some mild withdrawal effects, because your body is used to having the medication.
or 2) It contains a little more of the active ingredient and what you are experiencing are the side effects of the medication, which is exactly what would happen if you were to take a higher dosage.
