That is not a common use for opiates, in modern times, due to their addictive nature and the risk of abuse, which the FDA warns about.
They may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
What other medications have you tried? Have you tried any SSRIs, or SSNRIs? Some examples would be Prozac, Wellbutrin, Zoloft, or Cymbalta?
