Amoxicillin Dosage In 14month Old Girl

My daughter is 14 months I took her to patient first an they said she has pneumonia they gave her amoxicillin 400mg/5ml and takes 3/4 tsp 3times a day for 10 days I feel that is very high for a 14 month when I take 500mg I don't know if I shoud give it to her or just wait an see what the doctor does

Hi, Nicole! How is she doing?

In children, Amoxicillin is usually dosed by weight, for pneumonia it's 40 to 50mgs per kg of body weight, divided in to even doses every 8 hours. I understand that it may seem high to you and, of course, if you're concerned check with her doctor, before giving it to her, but please do so promptly, to avoid the pneumonia worsening.
