Amoxicillin Dosage For 5 Years Old That Weighs 69 Pounds

My little boy was given amoxilin for ear infection and this is his dosage......600/5ml.....he should take 10 mls twice a day for 10 days.....does that sound about right?

At that age, it is dosed according to weight, which for an ear infection is 30mgs per kg per day, so that would be 2,100mgs a day. Usually, it's recommended not to exceed 1,000mgs a dose, but if this is 600mgs per teaspoon, that is likely the closest they can get, without under dosing him, since they have to be sure the infection is eradicated.

Please double check with the doctor though, to make sure that the dosage is correct.
