Amoxicillin Dosage 1000mg Three Times Daily

Hi, i was prescribed 500mg of amoxicillin capsules TWO to be taken THREE times per day - Is this dose ok to take as everywhere I read, it says even for severe infections the normal dose is ONE 500mg THREE times daily? - I have an open wound being treated with negative pressure, the infection is in the wound. - have been on the 3 days now and am feeling very nausious

The higher dose can be given, if the infection is bad and it seems like yours is pretty serious, from what you've stated.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
