Amoxicillin 500 Mg Good Effective Date

I just found some G.E.Amoxicillin 500mg the doctor had given me the date filled 4/8/2013 it has 14 pills out of 21 in it. He must have changed me for some reason or like some people I didn't take it all. Are these still good?

Mediations do lose effectiveness with time and taking an expired antibiotic could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it.

The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
