Amox Clav Can I Get A Tattoo While Taking It

Hi I'm on amox clav and wanted to get a tattoo can I get one while I'm taking this med?

Hi Emma,

From what I've read on other people's tattoo experience, it is best to not get tattooed while taking oral antibiotics, due to the antibiotics working overtime trying to expel any foreign bodies that are introduced. Not only that, but according to other reports, it may also cause your new tattoo to look much older and faded as well.

If you have tattoos that are already healed, you shouldn't have anything to worry about if you need an antibiotic prescription. But, if you are planning on being tattooed and are on antibiotics, or have recently completed a regimen, you may want to hold off on getting your tattoo for a week or two after stopping treatment. Many antibiotics can remain in your system for several days thereafter, so waiting the extra time is probably going to be worth it in the long run.
